In Year Admissions

If you would like your child to join English Martyrs’ Catholic Primary School during the school year, this is known as an in-year (or casual) admissionFor casual admissions into any year group please contact the school office to see if spaces are available and to request forms.  If no spaces are available, your child's name can be put on a waiting list.

We understand that moving schools can be an important and sometimes challenging time for both children and families. Our aim is to make the process as straightforward and supportive as possible. Please have a look at the information below but remember, we are also here to help. If you experience any problems, or have any questions, please contact the office for advice.

How to Apply

To apply for an in-year place, parents and carers should complete:

  • Medway Council’s In-Year Admission Form, and
  • The school’s Supplementary Information Form (SIF)

Completed forms, along with any supporting documentation (such as proof of address, birth certificate and, where applicable, proof of faith), should be returned directly to the school.

You can request the forms by contacting the school office, or download them from this page.

Please note: A separate application must be submitted for each child.

What Happens Next

Once your application has been received, we will consider it in line with our admissions criteria.
You will be notified of the outcome of your application within 15 school days.

These will help you ensure that your application is completed accurately.

Appeals

If your application is unsuccessful, you have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel, in accordance with the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

Appeals for in-year applications are typically heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. Further information and the appeals form are available from the school.
