Music is taught at our school in every year group. As the children progress through the school, they are taught the basic skills of playing instruments with control, listening to music with increasing understanding, and composing their own pieces. Some of this involves teaching by outside specialist teachers.
Extra opportunities outside of school
Medway Music Association provide opportunities including free online music technology workshops for ages 9+ and a Saturday school and / or music lessons for children from year 1 upwards at Rainham Mark School
Kent Music provide music lessons, instrument hire and a Saturday school at Rochester Maths school
Opportunities at both centres include singing and percussion for those without previous experience, and junior groups for children already having lessons - Highly recommended by Mrs Kasper
